I was born in India and raised in a Christian home. My ancestors may have embraced Christianity when the Apostle Thomas brought the Gospel to India in the first century, or perhaps they became Christians much later through the influence of missionaries during the Portuguese, Dutch, or British periods. Whatever the case, their decision gave me the opportunity to grow up in a Christian family, for which I am deeply grateful.
Growing up as a Christian in India was a unique experience. Christians are a minority in a nation where the majority of people are Hindus, followed by Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Zoroastrians, and others. Many people viewed Christians as having a foreign culture or identity. However, the Mumbai in which I grew up was a highly pluralistic society where people of different faiths generally lived together peacefully and respected one another’s beliefs. It was common to hear statements such as, “All gods are the same,” or “All religions lead to the same God.”
Living in such an environment raised many questions in my mind about the Christian faith. Why did God have to send His Son to die for us? Could humanity not be saved in some other way? Why does God take sin so seriously? I wanted to do what was right, think what was right, and live rightly, yet I continually found myself falling short. If I could not overcome my own failures, how could I ever become the person God wanted me to be? And perhaps most importantly, was Christianity really true, or was it simply a collection of stories passed down from one generation to another?
I searched for answers in church, in society, and through my studies, but none of the answers I found fully satisfied with my deep desire for truth. So, I prayed and asked God to reveal Himself to me. If He truly existed, I wanted to know Him personally—not merely through tradition or the beliefs of others, but through my own experience and understanding.
Over time, God began answering my questions. I was introduced to Christian apologetics, which helped me examine the evidence for Christianity and address many of the questions that had troubled me. At the same time, I experienced God’s peace, joy, and hope in a very personal way. Slowly but surely, He transformed my life from one marked by uncertainty and hopelessness into one filled with meaning, purpose, and confidence.
Today, I have found satisfying answers to many of life’s biggest questions: questions about our origin, morality, suffering, and destiny. Through the Scriptures, I came to see Jesus Christ as the unique Son of God who lived a sinless life and taught the highest moral and ethical standards. More importantly, I came to know Him not merely as a historical figure, but as my Lord and Savior. His life, teachings, death, and resurrection have profoundly shaped who I am and how I seek to live.
I am convinced that Jesus Christ offers hope, forgiveness, and eternal life to all who place their trust in Him. Because of this conviction, I feel called to share this good news with others. My desire is that everyone would have the opportunity to examine His claims, discover the truth for themselves, and experience the same hope and purpose that I have found in Him.
The Bible teaches that God desires a relationship with every person and has made a way for us to be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ. Yet God also respects our freedom to accept or reject Him. If we reject Him in this life, we should not expect to spend eternity with Him. Since He is the Creator and Sustainer of all reality, separation from Him means being separated from the very source of life, joy, peace, and goodness. This is why the message of Jesus is so important—it is God’s invitation for us to be restored to Him and to receive the gift of eternal life.
I chose hope, joy, peace, love, and life by choosing Jesus Christ. It is my sincere prayer that you, too, will come to know Him personally and experience His transforming power in your own life.
