A worldview is a perspective on reality through which we interpret life and make sense of our existence. At its core, every worldview seeks to answer four fundamental questions:
• Origin – Where have I come from?
• Meaning – What is the purpose of life?
• Morality – How should I live?
• Destiny – What is my final destiny?
Throughout history, several major worldviews have attempted to answer these questions. Pantheism holds that all reality is ultimately one. Naturalism views the universe as random, chaotic, and accidental, governed solely by matter and chance. Theism affirms belief in God as the Creator of the universe. Christian theism further reveals that this Creator exists as a Trinity and that human beings are made in His image.
The most coherent worldview is one that not only answers life’s deepest questions but also makes reality intelligible. Let us examine some of the major worldviews:

A Comparative view of Sin and Salvation
| Worldview | Hinduism | Buddhism | Islam | Naturalism | Christianity |
| Sin | No real definition. By sin (Paap), they mean harmful actions that violate moral and cosmic order | Unwholesome actions driven by greed, hatred, and delusion | Disobedience to Allah’s revealed will | No objective sin | Rebellion against God’s holiness |
| Root Cause of Sin | Ignorance of true self and reality | Ignorance and craving | Human weakness, forgetfulness, pride | Evolutionary instincts, social conditioning, psychological factors | The Fall of humanity; inherited sinful nature; (Original sin) |
| Moral Authority | Lacks a consistent framework for distinguishing between good and evil. Cosmic order | Man is ultimately seen as the absolute authority | Allah’s commands revealed through the Qur’an and Sunnah | Shaped by society, culture and environment | God’s holy character and revealed Word |
| Nature of Sin | Impersonal; disruption of moral harmony rather than offense against God | Impersonal; psychological and ethical disorder | Personal offense against God | Non-moral in an absolute sense; socially defined | Personal, moral guilt before a holy God |
| Consequences of Sin | Karma: resulting in suffering across multiple rebirths | Dukkha (suffering) and continued rebirth | Guilt, divine judgment, Hell if unrepented | Limited to social, legal, and psychological consequences only | Guilt, Shame & Eternal separation from God |
| Judgment | Automatic moral causation (karma), no divine judgment | Karma (automatic), no creator or judge | Judicial judgment by Allah on the Day of Judgment | Human judgment through laws or social norms | Bema for Believers and White Throne for unbelievers |
| Salvation | Moksha: Freedom from reincarnation (the cycle of rebirth) | Nirvana – liberation from the wheel of birth, death, and reincarnation | Jihad or Allah’s mercy (not guaranteed) | No salvation; improvement through education, reform, or therapy | Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ |
| Means of Salvation | Knowledge (Jnana) Service (Karma) Devotion and love (Bhakti) | The Noble Eightfold Path | If not Jihad, then Purification in Hell | Human effort and societal progress | Finished work of Christ on the Cross |
| Final Goal | Unifying the self with the Brahman -the impersonal absolute | The state of nothingness – Ceasing to desire | Men: Eternal life in Paradise with 72 Virgins and lots of booze. Women: Not mentioned | Happiness or Well-being and survival | Eternal life with God |
Why Christianity Makes the Most Sense?
Christianity makes a bold and unique claim about reality, humanity, and salvation: There is one God—holy, loving, and personal. God created us, but sin separated humanity from Him. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, came to reconcile us with God by dying for our sins and rising again. Only those who put their faith in Jesus—not in good works, religion, or rituals—are saved and receive eternal life.
God purposefully created every man, woman, and child in His image—not as a part of Him, but as distinct beings (Genesis 1:27). Human life is not accidental, cyclical, or meaningless. The Holy Bible teaches that life and history move in a straight line. “It is appointed to every man to die once, and after that to face judgment before God” (Hebrews 9:27).
The Bible also teaches that all people are guilty of sin before a holy God, and that humanity is too weak by nature to accomplish self-salvation or self-sanctification. No amount of good works, rituals, or religious effort can bridge the gap between sinful humanity and a holy God.
How can a sinful person come to a holy God? There is only one way—salvation through faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.
The Bible reveals Jesus is unlike any one else who ever lived: Jesus was born of a virgin, fulfilling prophecy: “A child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us” (Isaiah 9:6–7). This miraculous birth confirmed that He was fully God and fully man. Jesus lived humbly yet perfectly, without sin. He uniquely revealed God’s character: “No one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him” (Matthew 11:27).
The Cross and the Resurrection
Jesus willingly gave His life on the cross as the full payment for our sins, canceling our moral debt (Colossians 2:14–15). He triumphed over death itself (Hebrews 2:14), and on the third day, He rose bodily from the grave. He appeared to many over forty days, powerfully confirming His divine authority and His power to save. We need not do anything to pay for our sins. It is all paid in full.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Jesus Himself declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40)
The Bible says: “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6)
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12)
Today, you can receive forgiveness, peace with God, and eternal life: Confess your sins, Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you, Invite Him into your life. Only through Jesus can we receive forgiveness, eternal life, and a true relationship with God. Without Him, every person will still meet God—but face eternal separation.
This is not merely philosophy or religion—it is personal truth. You can respond today.
